I was lucky enough to exhibit with some great artists at The Quarry at St Luke’s, in celebration of Bedfringe. The Circus of Illustration and Animal Studio joined forces to put on an exhibition entitled Stages.
I envisioned getting messy with some lino and printing ink for these designs, but with time against me (what’s new?) I did some faux-printing with photoshop, using a selection of handmade textures. I kept it simple, working as I would using printmaking tools.
Stages is being transferred to Animal Studio and Gallery and will be there until late August.
I am excited (and a bit scared!) to celebrate my first solo exhibition, hosted by the great people at Dot to Dot gallery in Letchworth. The exhibition is a mish-mash, a hodge-podge, a jambalaya of my favourite work- hence the name alphabet soup!
I even had loadsa fun hanging the show, with the help of Pete and Frances. A private view (and my birthday celebration) will be on 10th April, and everyone is invited 😉
In celebration of International Women’s Day, Ketija at Animal Studio and Gallery orchestrated Women On Women- an exhibition by women, on the subject of women! Ketija kindly invited me alongside artists Charlotte Tenneson, Keely Freeman, Sarah Orchard, Jessica Omitola and Jean Hollywood. A broad mixture of disciplines sparked conversation, from painting to illustration to nail art.
A portion of profits were donated to Butterfly House, a women’s refuge in Bedford, alongside generous donations at the private view. Time and skills were also donated by the likes of photographer Christian Webb and filmmakers FPS Media.
I was inspired by the kick-ass words by women, and created typographical prints celebrating them.
FPS Media created this snazzy video summing up what we got up to..
“ART SCHOOL DISCO are a collection of 6 multi-disciplinary (primarily) illustrators, artists, VJ’s, milliners, do-da’s and gangle pins hailing from Southampton Solent University in 2010. They’ve exhibited in biscuit factories in London, shoeboxes in Shoreditch, shops in Southampton and back alleys in Bedford.”
(and I’m an official Disco-er!)
We are lucky enough to be ehxibiting at the awesome Animal Studio / Gallery in Bedford. Below are some snippets of what we have been up to…
